“FIGHT THE FIGHT” is MORTIMER’s first EP. Mortimer is a rising Jamaican artist, a promising singer with a captivating voice, equally at ease in traditional roots reggae and contemporary Jamaican music. After being featured on Protoje’s last two albums, Mortimer set reggae ablaze with his own singles. In October 2018, he released “Careful,” praised by David Rodigan on BBC Radio and selected by Apple Music Editors as one of the “Best of 2018.” This was followed by “Lightning” in July 2019 — a love song with classic reggae sounds and a modern touch. Mortimer is winning hearts with his romantic and sincere lyrics. “Fight the Fight” is his first EP since joining Overstand Entertainment and producer Winta James’s label. According to Mortimer, music has been a major source of inspiration for many years, starting at the age of eight when he sang in his church choir. He draws inspiration from Bob Marley, Jacob Miller, Donny Hathaway, as well as contemporary artists such as Stephen Marley and John Legend. “I make music because it is my first love and my passion. For me, it’s about a message... Of love, hope, kindness, selflessness, and also an opportunity to share a part of myself with others.”
