Music From Patch Cord Productions confirms Mort Garson’s talent in two worlds, one commercial and the other far removed from any economic considerations. This compilation features short, wild tracks for commercials (it’s unknown whether they were ever used) and intergalactic sound journeys. Was there really an artistic director who greenlit these compositions, which seem to anticipate Suicide and John Carpenter? Whatever the case, Mort’s work paved the way for the future. According to Robert Moog himself, jingles were important because they helped tame sound. Thanks to Mort Garson’s magic, the synthesizer transcended that format. He worked and composed until his death in 2008. His daughter and Sacred Bones collaborated to review all the material he left behind and transmit the artist's genius to new generations.
