BLACK MAHOGANI II: Released in limited numbers alongside Black Mahogani in 2004 and never repressed. Black Mahogani II departed from Kenny Dixon Jr.'s usual house music and featured tracks from his late-night jazz sessions. The centerpiece is the eighteen-minute "When She Follows," a deep jazz session that slides live drum rolls into a Fender Rhodes electric piano, an acoustic bass, and a distant saxophone, all wrapped in an amorphous voice that drifts ever further like an epic Detroit techno track replayed by Gil Scott Heron's band in 1970.
