Music For Pleasure is the debut studio album by Monaco, a side project of Peter Hook, the bassist of New Order, released in 1997. When New Order took a break after Republic (1993), Hook carried on with the band’s sound and spirit and formed Monaco with David Potts. Hook’s pulsing, distinctive bass lines unified New Order’s post-punk-pop blend, creating an identity so recognizable that Monaco’s first single, “What Do You Want From Me?”, was often mistaken for a New Order track. Upon its release, the album reached No. 11 on the UK charts and sold over 500,000 copies worldwide. Music For Pleasure is available in an expanded edition featuring 6 bonus tracks, including remixes by Joey Negro and Farley & Heller.
