Lantern Records is proud to present this unprecedented collection from one of Liverpool's best-kept musical secrets. Modern Eon - composed of Alex Che Johnson (vocals/guitar), Danny Hampson (bass), Tim Lever (guitar and saxophone), Bob Wakelin (keyboards) and Cliff Hewitt (drums). After the release of their sophisticated album Fiction Tales in April 1981 - with tracks largely written by Che Johnson/Hampson, plus three singles - the band toured the UK and Europe. But at the end of 1981, Modern Eon disappeared as suddenly as they had appeared, leaving fans with a glimpse of their sonic, creative and production brilliance, blending new wave, progressive and experimental. Some of the early compositions presented here offer the opportunity to hear Modern Eon in their initial, developmental phase, as well as the innovative DinDisc 45, the B-sides of the singles and, finally, an instrumental track from 1979 and three demos from 1981.
