UNIFONY is a project launched by Dutch musicians Minco Eggersman and Theodoor Borger. After recording the first album with Norwegian trumpeter Mathias Eick, they invited piano virtuoso Aaron Parks, known for his work with Blue Note Records and ECM Records. Aaron Parks (piano) and Óskar Gudjónsson (saxophone) made the songs even more powerful with their inspiring ideas. After listening to UNIFONY I, Aaron was immediately interested in collaborating with them. His clear and jazzy playing brings Eggersman and Borger's compositions to a different light, and his interpretations and harmonies are a source of inspiration for everyone involved. Right after Aaron's European tour, Minco and Aaron went to Theodoor's studio, where an intimate atmosphere quickly developed, allowing Aaron to respond to Eggersman and Borger's raw ideas without any preparation. The cover illustration is once again by James Marsh, who contributed to this special project. The British designer is not only responsible for all the iconic album covers of Talk Talk, but he has also worked with artists like Jamiroquai and Gerry Rafferty. To top it all off, the album was mastered by none other than Bob Ludwig, an 11-time Grammy Award-winning mastering engineer. He has worked with artists such as Radiohead, Nirvana, Paul McCartney, Madonna, and many more. UNIFONY is a tribute to the work ethic of the 80s: being able to spend time in a studio, using great instruments and recording equipment without being under constant pressure. The studio of Theodoor was for them the place where these unique songs of UNIFONY could develop. This method and quality have been recognized and appreciated by others, leading Aaron, Óskar, James, and Bob to join forces. Ultimately, UNIFONY is the final result of all this talent.
