So few records have marked their era as much as "Kind Of Blue", and even fewer have retained such importance, more than sixty years later, to the point of becoming a reference in the discography of a Miles Davis who experimented with all kinds of blends and never ceased to reinvent himself, from his beginnings alongside Charlie Parker and Dizzy Gillespie until his passing in 1991. Alongside him, five musicians – John Coltrane on tenor sax, Julian "Cannonball" Adderley on alto sax, Bill Evans and Wynton Kelly on piano, Paul Chambers on bass, and Jimmy Cobb on drums – united to bring to life a new conception of jazz, breaking away from the one that had dominated the previous decade. From this group, whose members would soon be inscribed in the firmament of jazz legends, the trumpeter was able to marry contrasts, from the fluid and burning breath of John Coltrane to the impressionistic harmonies of Bill Evans, to create an album rightly considered one of the most precious in the history of recorded music.
