IN CONCERT AT THE OLYMPIA PARIS 1957

Description

The recording of this concert is presented for the first time in its entirety in this edition. The original remastered tapes were used to produce this double LP and CD, thus ensuring excellent sound quality. With little publicity and only one star from America, Miles Davis, Bruno Coquatrix, owner and director of the Olympia, accomplished an impressive feat by presenting a sold-out concert on Saturday, November 30 at 6 p.m. André Hodeir wrote in Jazz Hot: "This Miles Davis concert was one of the finest jazz concerts we have ever been given to hear in Paris. Brilliantly supported by Kenny Clarke, René Urtréger, Pierre Michelot and Barney Wilen, the great trumpeter gave the best of himself in many passages. And it is also a new Miles Davis that we discovered at times, a Miles Davis who constantly reinvents the jazz trumpet, both technically and in terms of sensitivity." The music on this album is a magnificent testament to Miles Davis's captivating and spellbinding style, showcasing his unmatched talent for pushing his peers beyond their limits and sharing with them his boundless creativity and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and minds.
