IN CONCERT AT THE OLYMPIA PARIS 1957

Description

The recording of this concert is presented in its entirety for the first time in this edition. The remastered original tapes were used to produce this double LP and CD, ensuring excellent sound quality. With little publicity and only one star from America, Miles Davis, Bruno Coquatrix, owner and director of the Olympia, achieved an impressive feat by presenting a sold-out concert on Saturday, November 30th, at 6 PM. André Hodeir wrote in Jazz Hot: "This Miles Davis concert was one of the most beautiful jazz concerts we have ever had the chance to hear in Paris. Brilliantly supported by Kenny Clarke, René Urtréger, Pierre Michelot, and Barney Wilen, the great trumpeter gave his best in many passages. And it was also a new Miles Davis that we sometimes discovered, a Miles Davis who constantly reinvents the jazz trumpet, both technically and emotionally." The music on this album is a magnificent testament to Miles Davis' captivating and enthralling style, showcasing his unparalleled talent for pushing his peers beyond their limits and sharing with them his boundless creativity and inspiration, leaving an indelible mark on our hearts and minds.
