"Miles Ahead" was Miles Davis’s first recording with the Gil Evans Orchestra and paved the way for many more gems to come. It is presented here in its entirety, along with the five 1962 orchestral tracks from Miles and Gil’s final studio collaboration, “Quiet Nights”. The May 19, 1961 Carnegie Hall concert was their only recorded live performance together, and featured versions of three songs from "Miles Ahead", as well as an arrangement of "Spring Is Here" that was never included on any of Miles Davis and Gil Evans' studio albums.
