AUTUMN LEAVES

Description

Autumn Leaves, the American version of the famous song written by Jacques Prévert and composed by Joseph Kosma (the score was originally written for a ballet by Roland Petit), was adapted into English in 1949 by Johnny Mercer and quickly became a jazz standard. Miles Davis made it his own and included it in his live repertoire from 1960 to 1966. Only one studio session was recorded with "Cannonball," aka Julian Edwin Adderley, who featured it on his Somethin' Else. It is the highlight of this compilation that includes the greatest hits of the American trumpeter. Excerpt from the ideal Fnac discography 2017.
