Otonoma

Description

The art of Midori Hirano lies in the resonance between the sonic and visual universes. During her brilliant career, this composer, pianist, and synthesist, born in Kyoto and based in Berlin, has forged a singular voice at the crossroads of classical music and harmonies with abstraction and invention. Beyond her works signed under her own name, Hirano has published dynamic experiments under the pseudonym MimiCof and has composed for film, television, art exhibitions, and architecture. A prolific collaborator, she has worked with artists such as CoH, Brueder Selke, Nils Mosh, Ben Lukas Boysen & Paul Emmerich and many others, contributing to dozens of productions. Hirano is recognized for her moving works that stimulate all the senses through pictorial impressionism, a true sonic painting. OTONOMA is the culmination of her work synthesizing these elements and highlights her talent as an artist who is both experienced and intuitive. The album fuses Hirano's classical sense of piano harmony with the infinite textural possibilities of synthesizers. Like nebulae condensing into galaxies, the tracks of OTONOMA emanate dense hues, subtly layered in gradients, striking and radiant.
