Description

Mickael Furnon knows where he comes from. Chance (Indochine) and talent ("Tu vas pas mourir de rire") may have propelled his band to success, but he does not forget that the stage played a crucial role in the development of Mickey 3D. While all the sirens of ease were ringing out, it was with their touring sound engineer that the three musicians recorded this "Matador," their fourth album with a renewed bite, in live conditions. In addition to catchy melodies, all the elements that make the charm of Mickey 3D's music are gathered here: rock ("Il faut toujours viser la tête"), folk-pop ("Sparadrap"), and tinkering ("Rodéo"). But this time, the strength of the project also lies in the quality of the lyrics, bittersweet (never mean but never dull), and a desire to tread on the territory of the princes of the alternative pop scene made in the USA, such models as Frank Black, Beck, or Mark Oliver Everett (Eels). And all of this, without ever renouncing its roots (the accordion can be clearly heard).
