The concept album about the life of the forgotten poet Edgar Bourchier Mick Harvey & Christopher Richard Barker unveil a concept album that delves into the work of First World War poet Edgar Bourchier. Its release coincides with the centenary of the Armistice of November 11th. The work of the long-forgotten war poet has emerged from the trenches of the Western Front to arrive in 2018. His words are brought back to life by author Christopher Richard Barker and set to music by Mick Harvey. The path was winding, not only because of the tortured history of Edgar Bourchier and his poetry, but also because Bourchier's personal story had been constructed by Barker. This character initially served his novel The Melancholy Haunting Of Nicholas Parkes. From this came a 15-track album written by Harvey and Barker to bring this powerful narrative to life.
