Murder Ballads Vol. 2

Description

The second chapter of the post-isolationist ambient-folk classic by M.J. Harris (Scorn) and Martyn Bates (Eyeless in Gaza) pressed on vinyl for the first time. Following Murder Ballads (Drift), the second volume of the project by Martyn Bates and Mick Harris, originally released in 1997, evolves Bates' bittersweet vocalizations and Harris' icy electronic atmospheres into labyrinthine layers, muffled and distant echoes, whispers, and counter-melodies, resulting in a hypnotic conversation that radically redefines the macabre genre of murder ballads.
