On the evening of September 27, 1995, 500 spectators at the legendary Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles were the privileged witnesses of a rare event: after several years away from the stage, Michel Polnareff gave an intimate concert with a stellar band. Backed by guitarist Dick Smith (Earth Wind & Fire, Aretha Franklin), percussionist Alex Acuna (Weather Report, Elvis Presley, Michael Jackson), bassist Sam Sims (Janet Jackson), and a group of backing vocalists, “L’Amiral” revisited the greatest hits of his career. Rearranged in superb pop-rock, country, reggae, and funk orchestrations, the timeless "On ira tous au paradis," "Le Bal des lazes," "Love me, please love me," "Tout, tout pour ma chérie," "Je suis un homme," and "Lettre à France" were accompanied by an unreleased instrumental, cleverly titled "Lee Needy." To celebrate the Admiral's 80th birthday, this classic is now available in a vinyl edition.
