Description

Michel Cloup, singer-guitarist and founder of Diabologum, one of the most important French rock bands of the 90s, launched Michel Cloup Duo in the early 2010s. Through the use of effects pedals and orchestrated solitude, he layers harmonic and melodic lines, saturated sounds and clear arpeggios, stubborn riffs and hesitant explorations. His lyrics are delivered in a voice that oscillates between spoken word and song. Drummer Julien Rufié has been an anchor, a cardinal point, since their previous album, “Ici et là-bas” (2016). His drums provide the pulse for the songs, allowing Michel Cloup to lay down the poetic framework of his stories, the glowing skies that his guitar will tear through with expansive – or sometimes more constrained – lightning reveries, acid rain, or clouds scudding towards the horizon. "Danser danser danser sur les ruines" is Michel Cloup Duo’s fourth album.
