These previously unreleased recordings from the 1970s by legendary pianist and composer Michael Garrick feature him leading two ensembles of renowned British jazz musicians. They perform eight original Garrick compositions, showcasing his talent for blending expressive writing with modal jazz rhythms.The album comes from two sessions recorded for BBC Radio 1 at Maida Vale Studios, between 1973 and 1978. Featured are singer Norma Winstone, trumpeter Henry Lowther, saxophonists Art Themen, Tony Coe and Alan Wakeman, trombonist David Horler, bassists Dave Green and Jeff Clyne, and drummers Trevor Tomkins and John Marshall.
