Hinson grew up in Abilene where he discovered music and immersed himself in it to escape the boredom of this too-quiet Texas town. Recorded in five days and five nights in southern Italy, *I Lie To You* is the result of a collaboration with producer Alessandro Asso Stefana, Raffaele Tiseo on strings, Zeno De Rossi on drums, and Greg Cohen on double bass. On this new album, the brilliant songwriter, whose youth was rattled by addictions, sings eleven tales of love, loss, and regret in his raspy voice, once again laying bare his artist's heart.
