Tape la galoche

Description

Tape la Galoche is a legendary record recorded at the Legend's in St Lô and at Douglas Corner in Nashville-Tennessee (USA ). This first album by the group Mes souliers sont rouges has more than one surprise in store. First of all, the choice of Live seems obvious for the group, which had already sold 500 copies of a cassette that included 8 to 10 live tracks recorded at L'espace Jean Vilar in Ifs. The choice of the Lend's in St Lô quickly becomes obvious for these 4 days of concerts. It is a place made for music and those who appreciate it. Packed every night, people are turned away. The group is sent to Nashville-Tennesse during the Summerlight festival in June 95. As the only foreign group, it earns the nickname MSSR in the press as well as praise, and takes the opportunity to record the indoor concerts at Douglas Corner, a renowned club in the city, a temple of country music and rock'n roll.
Upon its release in July 1995, the group receives by carrier the first pressing of a thousand in Quimper during the Cornouaille festivities, and will sell 500 copies on site in 5 days!
The pressings follow one another and the group sells a few thousand albums, ranking as the best-selling record across all categories at Fnac in Caen for more than three consecutive months.
The same position occurs during Christmas sales at several points of sale in Normandy.
Mes souliers sont rouges with « tape la galoche » has it arrived on tiptoe in the big leagues by being self-produced and independent? It seems to have taken that path: here it is gold record with more than 120,000 copies sold. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, here is a new reissue under the Antal Productions label, a label founded by Gullivan, one of the group's artists.
