Mecano was a Spanish pop group, considered the pioneer of techno-pop, new wave, and synth-pop in Spain. The group was primarily active between 1981 and 1992. The group consisted of singer Ana Torroja, with her incredible voice recognizable from the very first words, and the Cano brothers, Nacho and José Maria Cano. Their success was phenomenal, not only in the Hispanic world (Spain, South America) but also internationally (Japan, Sweden, Germany, United Kingdom, Brazil, Portugal, the Netherlands, and of course France). "Mecano" is the group's first album, released in 1982.
