Thunder Express
Description
1972 studio recording at the Château d'Hérouville for a French television show; + 4 bonus tracks taken from two rare earlier singles, + inner sleeve with the 1970 notes, the 10-point program of the White Panther Party. MC5 (Motor City Five) - the legendary Detroit band. Their first single, included here, was released in 1967. In 1968, they played at the famous Democratic convention that turned into a police riot, and became the "official band of the White Panther Party." Their manager John Sinclair became a martyr of hippie activism, after being imprisoned for 10 years for 2 joints, inspiring John Lennon's song "10 For 2." Kicked off their first label Electra, they signed with Atlantic for two more albums, but only achieved underground success. Today, they are revered as one of the flagship rock'n'roll bands and a major source of inspiration for punk. "Thunder Express" documents their last and first studio work: six tracks recorded in France at Studio Castle Herouville for a television show in 1972; plus 4 tracks from their first two singles from 66 & 68.Buy Thunder Express at the best price
