More than three decades have passed since that now legendary concert, and the original cover art from the first pressing of the album in 1993 is also included. This classic title includes a performance from the Leipzig concert given by the Norwegian legends on November 26, 1990, featuring the band Mayhem consisting of Hellhammer, Necrobutcher, Euronymous, and Dead. "Live in Leipzig" mainly features live renditions of tracks from the "Deathcrush" album (1987), such as "Necrolust" and the title track, and from the seminal 1994 album, "De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas," with tracks such as "Funeral Fog" and the ultimate black metal classic, "The Freezing Moon." Mayhem is one of the undeniable leaders of the black metal genre and an inspiration for many black metal bands around the world today. Mayhem has been around for over 35 years, and its often dark and tragic history gives it unparalleled infamy. This album is one of the few to feature this lineup—vocalist Dead committed suicide the year after the concert, and guitarist Euronymous was killed in 1993.
