At the crossroads of folk, blues, and rock, Mathis Haug digs a musical furrow that is ever deeper and more fertile. Mathis Haug gathered at his home a very eclectic group; the songwriter Sal Bernardi (Rickie Lee Jones), the Malagasy accordionist Régis Gizavo, Nick Vaughan the troubadour and Welsh violinist, and other long-time collaborators. This ability to bring people together is the hallmark of an artist whose originality is measured by the melting-pot of music that characterizes him. By remaining true to the spirit of spontaneity and intuition inherent in a form of poetic raw art inherited from Bob Dylan, Tom Waits, or John Cougar Mellencamp, Mathis Haug embarks on an innovative approach with this project that reconciles his original heritage, that of the early American music, with the spirit of a society in full questioning.
