His style, often described as "alternative French chanson," is distinguished by its refined simplicity, inventiveness, and an unmistakable groove.
Grand Piano is the title of his ninth album, and it's an oxymoron: "A figure of speech that aims to bring together two terms that their meanings should keep apart." GRAND because he wanted it that way: frank, thick, powerful, more substance, more volume than its predecessors... Older?
A drum, an electric bass, a synthetic bass, an electric guitar, an acoustic guitar, a synthesizer, a saxophone, a flute, an accordion, a choir, percussion, an electric piano, and an upright piano: the range of colors he needed to depict in detail the feelings he unfolds.
But PIANO, because always in a tone of intimacy, light, fragile, soft, nuanced.
Written and composed between September 2020 and March 2023 in many places (London, Paris, Istanbul, Amsterdam, Budapest…), the record was recorded at La Frette Studio and then mixed by Renaud Letang (Alain Souchon, Feist, L’impératrice) at Ferber.
