'O Seuil' was conceived as a direct sequel to 'Drachen' (his previous solo album, released in 2015 on Mind Travels). It maintains the same appreciation for powerfully immersive sound pieces, based on acoustically treated electronic instruments. The album is an exhibition of perpetually shifting sonic landscapes, at times simple and complex, constantly oscillating between shadow and light. Mathias Delplanque continues to develop his materialist approach to sound, endlessly carving, hollowing out, cutting, and modeling it like a composite sculpture. This sixteenth album under his birth name, in over twenty years of career, once again demonstrates that the Nantes-based artist is a skillful, curious, and passionate creator.
