Somewhere Up In The Mountain EP

Description

With a very special piece, the reformed NWOBHM band MARQUIS DE SADE returns. Their comeback album "Chapter II" (Golden Core/ZYX) has already been widely praised, especially because the sometimes epic material appeals not only to metal enthusiasts but also to fans of bands like Magnum. This led, in addition to numerous concerts in England, to a slot at the prestigious Keep It True festival, where they were convincing throughout. "Somewhere Up In The Mountains," the A-side of the rare 1981 single, has proven in recent years to be a NWOBHM hit. It has been covered by bands like Roxxcalibur or Dragon's Kiss and is constantly shared on social media. The epic orientation of this song, recorded in 1981 in a very basic, even primitive way, inspired the idea of making an orchestrated version, as an update and alternative to the original. The result is astonishing and shows just how "grand" the song is. Even the B-side, "Black Angel," much harder than "Somewhere...", works in this sound version. Here, the band and orchestra play together, not side by side as is often the case in such projects. A new version cannot and should not replace the original. That is why this extended EP also includes both original versions of the very rare 1981 single. These have been restored and remastered by Patrick Engel.
