The first independent artist signed by A24 Music, Londoner Mark William Lewis makes his mark with a self-titled album already hailed as one of the best of 2025 (Vulture). Between slow ballads and mellow indie rock grooves, he unfurls a subtle musical palette, at the crossroads of slowcore, leftfield pop, folk rock, and ambient, carried by a restrained and cinematic production. A rising figure in the London underground scene, Lewis crafts an introspective and sensory body of work, where the rawest emotions take shape in a minimalist and refined aesthetic. Uninclined to public confessions, he murmurs his torments with a deep, veiled voice, exploring alienation, intimacy, and the complexity of urban environments through impressionistic lyrics, supported by hazy guitars, harmonica, a deep bass, and muffled percussion. Following the EPs Pleasure is Everything and God Complex (2022), then the album Living (2023), this new record continues an artistic trajectory marked by great formal consistency. In parallel, Sparkles 22–24 compiles unreleased tracks recorded in recent years, offering a rawer and more fragmented counterpoint to this major release.
