Mark Jenkin, BAFTA-winning director, editor, screenwriter, cinematographer and musician, presents the original soundtrack for his new film, Rose of Nevada, on Invada Records. Singular among British filmmakers for his analog approach to filmmaking and for his multiple roles as screenwriter, director, cinematographer and editor, he once again handles the sound design and composition of the original soundtrack. This new composition reflects the techniques used in the film, with analog synthesizers that immerse the listener in hypnotic and hazy sonorities, and delicate movements. Composed, produced, recorded and performed by Mark Jenkin using synthesizers, guitars, percussion and effects, the soundtrack, through its ambient recordings, evokes the context of its creation. Oscillating between the tranquility of the seas and the fury of storms, it asserts itself as a powerful and standalone work. The physical release of the soundtrack follows the Cornish director's third feature film: Rose of Nevada, a time travel science fiction film, released in the UK and Ireland on April 24, then available on Blu-ray and BFI Player during the summer. The album is pressed on yellow vinyl and includes a 30 x 30 cm double-sided insert.
