The album "Creative Improvisation Ensemble" immortalizes the meeting of two iconic avant-garde figures, Marion Brown and Wadada Leo Smith, on May 12, 1970, in Paris. On this recording, Brown and Smith play alto saxophone and trumpet, respectively—their instruments of choice—as well as various percussion.This reissue, the last in Org Music's Freedom Records series, was mastered for vinyl by Dave Gardner and pressed by Pallas Group on audiophile vinyl. The album had not been reissued on vinyl since its initial release in 1975.
