Twelve years after her previous album, Marie Paule Belle returned to the studio to record 15 new tracks with piano and vocals. This new opus, 'Un soir entre mille', featuring autobiographical, humorous, and sentimental songs, is now available in a limited vinyl edition.
The lyrics are by Marie-Paule Belle and Isabelle Mayereau. Her longtime lyricists, Françoise Mallet-Joris and Michel Grisolia, were also invited for this grand comeback, and their lyrics, though written years ago, remain relevant, such as 'Pays Natal' (a song covered by Souad Massi on her album Oumniya) or 'Se dire oui, se dire non' about the virtual world. The artist tells her unprecedented story through music, including her relationship with Françoise Mallet-Joris in 'Beau temps à Saint-Germain' and 'Un soir entre mille', her family in 'Avec toi, je riais souvent', 'Il écoutait le coeur des gens', and 'Petit frère', and evokes her childhood in 'Au bois de buis'. Her great friend Serge Lama contributes a poignant text with 'L'ombre de son chien'.
All music is by Marie-Paule Belle. Her voice has grown deeper and more mellow over the years, and her piano delicately and elegantly crafts her melodies. She opens up her treasure chest of memories and feelings, where time stops, allowing us to savor this intimate atmosphere. It is undoubtedly her most personal album!
