Miller is not only a unique bassist, an extraordinary multi-instrumentalist, but also a composer and a producer gifted with exceptional talent. Named Artist for Peace in 2013 by UNESCO and spokesperson for the project The Route of Slavery, the internationally renowned musician Marcus Miller wanted, in his own words, to trace back to the source of the rhythms that enrich our musical heritage, starting from Africa to follow them, as if tracking, all the way to the United States. This journey took us from Mali to Paris, from New Orleans to Sao Paulo, passing through the Caribbean. Afrodeezia, his first Blue Note album, reflects his new aspirations as an ambassador and messenger of great black music, always with that contagious musicality, unique groove, and recognizable bass sound, often copied, never equaled. The legendary album Tutu, composed and produced for Miles Davis, sealed his worldwide fame when he was only 25 years old. Since then, he has continued to collaborate with artists as diverse as talented (Eric Clapton, George Benson, Luther Vandross, Roberta Flack, Aretha Franklin, Chaka Khan, Jay-Z, Al Jarreau, Stanley Clarke, George Duke, Quincy Jones, Brian Ferry, Herbie Hancock, to name just a few) while releasing 10 albums that have led to worldwide tours.
