At 90, Marcel Amont, one of the last legends of music hall, makes a discographic comeback that is as unexpected as it is successful, alongside the biggest names in French song: Charles Aznavour, Francis Cabrel, Alain Souchon, Maxime Le Forestier, François Morel, Aldebert... For the first time, Marcel Amont revisits his repertoire in the company of the writers who had composed his hits for him. Indeed, it was in 1962 that Charles Aznavour gave him the famous Mexicain. Or again in 1979, Alain Souchon had written Viennois (a magnificent declaration of love to the romantic waltz) and Maxime Le Forestier composed La Galère for Marcel Amont around the same period. In 1975, it was Georges Brassens who offered Le Chapeau de Mireille to his friend Amont. This song is performed for the first time by a great southern Brassens devotee: Francis Cabrel. Joël Favraux (guitarist - Brassens arranger in the 70s) accompanies them on this unreleased version. Other faithful friends come to accompany Marcel on this album: François Morel suggested sharing Monsieur, one of the happiest songs of Marcel Amont’s career. As for Aldebert, he set to music an unreleased text by Marcel, Viva la Vida. IGIT composed for him the very chic unreleased Par-dessus l'épaule, which makes him confess: “In winter I play at spring / I play hide-and-seek with time.” Finally, he shares Samba d'été, a Brazilian classic that he had translated in 1967 with his son, Mathias.
