Strictly limited edition in silver vinyl of the hit album 'Silver City' by Marc Almond, available in double vinyl while stocks last! Marc Almond personally supervised this enhanced reissue (on two discs) of his 2016 electro-pop album, previously lesser-known. This version of 'Silver City' now stands as the definitive techno-pop work, featuring 20 tracks written and produced by Marc in collaboration with Starcluster, the famous cult German electronic music duo. It is, according to the Electricity Club (2016), Marc Almond's "most synth-rich project since the Soft Cell era." The tracks of 'Silver City' draw inspiration from classic electro-pop and were all composed using 80s analog synthesizer sounds. There is a Moroder or Vangelis atmosphere on the track "Smoke And Mirrors"; an obvious homage to John Foxx in the angular soundscapes of "Pixelated"; as well as an affectionate nod to three cult and foundational synth-pop tracks through inventive covers of "To Have And Have Not" (by Ronny) and "Get Closer" (the classic Italo-disco by Valerie Dore), not to mention a creative electro reinterpretation of the 80s international hit "Self Control" (popularized by Laura Branigan and RAF). 'Silver City' also includes several remixes as well as two new tracks by Marc Almond and Starcluster: "Futuristic Weimar Berlin" and "Dancing Through The Fire." This silver vinyl edition is presented in a wide spine sleeve illustrated with a futuristic urban landscape by Emil Schult (collaborator of Kraftwerk) and includes two printed inner sleeves in color featuring photographs of Marc.
