Parasol Peaks/vinyle coloré

Description

Captivating musician and hang (or handpan) pioneer, Manu Delago, has announced the release of a unique and stunning film, accompanied by an album. For Parasol Peaks, Delago led an ensemble of seven musicians on a mountaineering expedition in the Alps. During the journey, the group was able to compose and play in the heart of the mountains, in different locations and at different altitudes. Delago was inspired by the natural environment surrounding the group, as well as by the percussive sounds created by the climbing equipment they used. The expedition proved extremely dangerous for the musicians, leading Delago to question the validity of his project. The result of the hardships endured by the group is a rare and completely unique work – visually and musically dazzling. The album could easily find its place among the giants of contemporary classical music, but it cannot escape its own singularity: flecked with European folk, with its brass and accordion melodies, as well as progressive drones played on strings and handpans, adorned with taps and whistles of natural origin. Even without visuals, nature is omnipresent. "For most of us, this expedition was the most challenging thing we've ever done," Delago comments, summarizing the journey. "But it was an incredible feeling to reach the summit and overcome these obstacles."
