The Ultra Vivid Lament

Description

The new album by Manic Street Preachers, The Ultra Vivid Lament on Columbia Sony. The Welsh rock trio recorded their 14th studio album in Wales at Rockfield Studios in Monmouth and at Door To The River studio in Newport with their longtime collaborator Dave Eringa. An original album with a broader soundscape than the previous ones. With more or less political tracks, this new release tries to reflect the times we live in; nevertheless, the trio advocates positivity and encourages turning toward the light despite bleak situations. Musically, “The Ultra Vivid Lament” draws inspiration from a 1970s record box set (ABBA, post-Eno Roxy, the Bunnymen, Fables-era REM, Lodger) but the final result can only be the unique union of James Dean Bradfield, Nicky Wire and Sean Moore, collectively one of the UK’s brightest rock’n’roll bands for more than three decades.
