Description
Mama Terra, a new signing of Acid Jazz, is the result of the work of Glasgow pianist and composer Marco Cafolla, who created The Summoned during the lockdown. Playing piano and bass, he used samples of hip hop and modern American jazz to create a rhythm section.The samples were sent to the Orangefish studio in Brooklyn, NYC, where Derek Neivergelt (Terrance Blanchard) and Evan Pazner (Lee Fields) added a live rhythm section, with trumpet solos by Jeremy Pelt. The Summoned is a conceptual journey through life and the universe - a revitalized approach to spiritual jazz with a hint of soul.
