Mysticisms celebrates the tenth installment of its Dubplate series with a special dedicated to remixes and new versions of tracks by Persian, reworked by young producers and close associates of the label. Initially a one-off project, Dubplate has become a pillar of the label’s mission: to shine a light on dancefloor lessons influenced by dub. South London producer Picasso opens the EP with his abstract grooves blending Dub and Tech House. His tracks, designed for the dancefloor, favor textures, atmospheres and complex rhythms rather than classic melodies. Sam "Andrews" McKay offers a series of immersive "soundscapes" inspired by ambient, jazz and experimental music. Alongside Persian, he revisits the tracks by giving them deep basslines, distorted grooves and weightless dub atmospheres. Space Within Art moves from street soul to reggae toward a hypnotic Dub House with psychedelic vocals. Dunya 2 blends breakbeat jazz, harp, strings and dub bass in a psychedelic rise. D Dub Twist offers a deep Digi Dub blending sound experimentation and oriental samples dear to Persian. The EP closes with Jacob's Dub, a fusion of roots, Lovers and Stepper, transformed into abstract house driven by Picasso’s signature groove.
