The second album by the Swedish band Makthaverskan from Gothenburg, released in 2013, layers aspects of noise, jangle, and dream pop over an energetic, loose garage-punk foundation. The distorted, uptempo riffs blend with atmospheric and laid-back post-punk throughout the tracks that make up II. The bursts of catchy pop sound are highlighted and brought to life by the sharp, soaring voice of singer Maja Milner, who cuts through the layers of reverb to settle scores on the standout track "No Mercy," cursing the lover who shattered her youth.
