Without hesitation, he bids farewell to the usual folk-rock by imposing psychedelia on the horizon, simultaneously bringing together, without them ever having conversed, Alison Mosshart and Lou Reed. Yes, retro-futurism does not scare him. It is indeed behind a curtain of absurdity that a whole horizon of depth is hidden… At first glance, with the record in hand, King of Nothing, the first track of the album, already presents us with a paradox to decipher. Twelve songs unfold one after the other, allowing us to discover the intimacy of this character with a memorable look, even though they do not resonate with the listener. The air is decidedly familiar, unusual, and suspiciously delicious.
