Magnus Carlson and the Moon Ray Quintet join forces for a new album of vocal jazz covers inspired by their favorite tracks. Carlson is known as the singer of Weeping Willows, and the Moon Ray Quintet brings together members from big names in Swedish jazz such as Oddjob, Goran Kajfeš Tropiques, La La Lars, and more. Together, they create arrangements that capture the beauty of each song while adding a fresh touch. The Moon Ray Quintet was formed in 2009 around singer Magnus Carlson, during a break from Weeping Willows, his band for over ten years. In this artistic void, he met jazz musician and producer Goran Kajfeš in a bar. The two men had crossed paths musically before, but this meeting sparked ideas that would give a whole new direction to Magnus's career. It also gave birth to an entirely new group made up of highly sought-after jazz musicians. With Goran by his side, Magnus could challenge himself in a richer jazz context than the crooner songs he had already mastered perfectly. In reality, all the band members contributed to the development of this project.
