Twenty years after their last major Texas tour, the members of Magnolia Electric Co. are joining forces with Will Johnson for a new chapter under the name Magnolia & Johnson Electric Co. Together, they will pay tribute to their late friend and collaborator Jason Molina through a series of concerts in Texas from September 18 to 21, 2025, and new studio recordings. Will Johnson, a key figure in the Texas independent scene (Centro-matic, South San Gabriel, Jason Isbell's 400 Unit), previously released a seminal album with Molina in 2009, *Molina and Johnson*. This new reunion, featuring original members of Magnolia Electric Co., revisits this legacy by performing songs from both artists, in the vein of the 2018 Goshen Electric Company project. The sessions, recorded in Texas with Britton Beisenherz and mastered by Matthew Barnhart, promise a poignant blend of remembrance and renewal. The artwork is by Will Schaff, whose aesthetic remains inextricably linked to Jason Molina's world. This is not just a tribute tour, but above all, an act of artistic transmission and loyalty.
