For their third album, Madalitso Band changes direction. After two records capturing the raw intensity of their live performances, the Malawian duo explores the possibilities of the studio for the first time, without ever renouncing their style or energy. Armed with their guitar, their handmade babatone, and their intertwined voices, Yobu and Yosefe shape music at the crossroads of banjo music, kwela, gospel, and African folk. An acoustic trance full of freshness, minimalist yet vibrant, rooted in tradition while remaining deeply contemporary. Additionally, on Ma Gitala, new textures are added: choirs, percussion, guests from their close and family circle, and unexpected melodic touches.
