'Guitar' is Mac DeMarco's first studio album since 'Here Comes The Cowboy,' released in 2019. Following his two most recent projects—the 199-track compilation 'One Wayne G' and the instrumental compilation 'Five Easy Hot Dogs'—'Guitar' features 12 new songs written, performed, and recorded entirely by Mac DeMarco between November 16 and 28, 2024, in his home studio in Los Angeles. Regarding the album, Mac writes: "I think 'Guitar' is the truest and rawest representation of my current state of mind that I’ve been able to put to paper."
