Inside Every Fig Is A Dead Wasp
Description
Lunar Vacation releases their debut album, Inside Every Fig Is A Dead Wasp, on Keeled Scales. The two singer-songwriter-guitarists Grace Repasky and Maggie Geeslin met in eighth grade. By the time they were old enough to drive, Lunar Vacation was born. The duo created demo after demo, performed on as many stages as Atlanta could offer them, and recruited MaIeo DeLurgio (synthesizer) and Connor Dowd (drums) to match the increasingly vibrant sonic spirit of their songs. Shortly after finishing high school, Lunar Vacation released two EPs - Swell and Artificial Flavors - which earned them critical attention, millions of streams, and impressive opening slots. Their first single "Mold" deals with facing the strangeness of West Coast American culture for the first time, particularly Los Angeles, and discovering the influencer lifestyle with astonishment. The song also evokes the feelings experienced for a person immersed in that culture and the conflicting desire to fit in. Produced by Daniel Gleason of Grouplove, this record is a vibrant offering of melodic guitars, propulsive rhythms, and captivating vocals that tackle the contemporary issue of coming of age. The album boasts a celebratory sound, a carefree sense of ecstasy befitting fluid youth and rock-solid friendship. Drawing from their early influences like Rilo Kiley and Tame Impala, and moving closer to contemporaries like Alvvays and Slow Pulp, Lunar Vacation delivers luminous music filled with joy.Buy Inside Every Fig Is A Dead Wasp at the best price
