Porcelaine

Description

In turn Pop (La Vie Presque), Rock and abrasive (La Tête En Arrière), or acoustic (D'Autre Part), Luke constantly blurs the lines according to his sound explorations. With Porcelaine, produced by Dimitri Tikovoi (Marianne Faithfull, John Cale, Placebo), Thomas Boulard's band is sure to surprise many. The 10 songs on Porcelaine are of incredible subtlety and elegance; everything in this album is dance, joy, and body. The Bowie-esque "Danse Dans La nuit" followed by "Flèche," an erotic anthem where one can almost feel the presence of Moroder, leading up to the climactic "Dis-moi," a bravura piece with exploratory instrumentation. The veil finally lifts, Luke looks straight ahead, free from his heavy roots, he takes flight and drifts in his own way, with his words "above existence." Just when you thought you knew everything about Luke, you finally discover him.
