The Dumb-Show

Description

Born in Tel Aviv, Israel, and raised in Los Angeles, California, Luke Top has spent the last two decades recording and performing music. From 2008 to 2015, he was the lead singer of Fool's Gold, a band internationally recognized for their cathartic live shows and mesmerizing explorations of psychedelia. After Fool's Gold disbanded, Luke took a musical turn and embarked on a solo career with the release of his album "Suspect Highs" in 2016. SPIN magazine called the album a "deeply heartfelt and authentic confession." In 2017, he had the opportunity to join the band Electric Guest for their second album, "Plural." It was during this period that he partnered with his longtime friend, Jason Quever (from Papercuts), to open a recording studio in the Arts District of Los Angeles. In this space, Luke found the freedom to explore bold new musical avenues, refining his unique songwriting and production style. The result of this work is collected in a new 5-track EP titled "The Dumb-Show." It features guest musicians Kyle Crane on drums (Daniel Lanois/Neko Case) and Seth Ford-Young (Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros) on upright bass.
