LSD and the Search for God landed on the northern coast of California in 2005, seeming to come from another time and place, flooding San Francisco with hypnotic concerts built around swirling guitars, otherworldly drones, saturated pop melodies, and dreamy vocal harmonies. Critics of their early concerts and recordings compared them to My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Yo La Tengo, Spacemen 3, and Sonic Youth, and the band quickly established itself as a must-see in the underground psychedelic music scene. The release of their self-titled debut EP was critically acclaimed and still regularly appears in lists of essential shoegaze albums. LSD's time and space travels have taken them to all corners of the United States, Canada, and Europe, including tours with Martin Rev (Suicide), Sonic Boom (Spacemen 3), and The Telescopes, as well as appearances at Levitation-Austin Psych Fest, Desert Daze in Southern California, Cosmosis Festival in Manchester (with The Jesus and Mary Chain), Bathysphere (with A Place To Bury Strangers), twice at Desert Stars (first with Black Rebel Motorcycle Club, then with The Dandy Warhols), Garbage Daze in Calgary, and Reverence Valada in Portugal (with The Damned, The Oh Sees, and Silver Apples).
