Description
The quartet from the Australian underground Lower Plenty present this album, Hard Rubbish, voted album of the year 2012 by the Australian indie bible Mess + Noise. Daniel Twomey, Jensen Tjhung, Sarah Heyward and Al Montfort are part of the rock elite of their continent, having played in the bands Deaf Wish, Total Control, UV Race and The Focus. With a sound less full-bodied than on these other projects, Lower Plenty create a magnificent melancholy, a suburban country music, raw and delicate, recorded in single takes on 8-track tape. Folk-inspired indie rock, with a few experiments and fantastically memorable melodies.
