Louis Armstrong's career began almost 15 years before Ella Fitzgerald's. In fact, Louis was one of Ella's first musical idols, and at the beginning of her career, she would perform a song (usually "Basin Street Blues") in her show imitating Louis's voice. Ella and Louis is an album by Ella Fitzgerald and Louis Armstrong, released in 1956.
