Soulin' Limited Edition

Description

This Elemental Music release presents Lou Rawls’ classic album, Soulin'. Lou Rawls began his rise in the R&B and pop charts with this 1966 album. He was now tackling a soul repertoire, songs where his gospel background and instincts took over, and he sang with power, soaring and thundering rather than interpreting or working through blues progressions. He scored a huge hit with "Love Is a Hurtin' Thing" and had finally found a winning formula. Rawls (1933-2006), also a voice actor, songwriter, and record producer, is best known for his vocal abilities: Frank Sinatra once said that Rawls had "the classiest singing and the smoothest phrasing in the business". Rawls released more than 60 albums, sold over 40 million records, and had many charting singles, including his famous track "You'll Never Find Another Love Like Mine". He was the recipient of three Grammy Awards, all in the category of Best Male R&B Vocal Performance
